IA & Content

Structuring complex digital ecosystems into clear, scalable information architectures that improve wayfinding and decision-making

Architecting Clear Navigation and Content Structures

Website information architecture (IA) organises content from the end-user's perspective, with each level of the hierarchy connecting to clear navigation pathways. The goal was to make study information easy to find by using simple, jargon-free labels rather than internal university terminology. The IA for the main website was designed to support both business objectives and student needs, and was validated through extensive user testing. We conducted tree testing and card-sorting sessions with students on campus, asking them to locate degrees and navigate the 'Study With Us' section. The results confirmed that the revised hierarchy improved discoverability and aligned with student expectations.

Wayfinding Through Study Pathways

This journey map demonstrates the structured wayfinding approach developed to move prospective students from exploration to enrolment. Through clear hierarchies, consistent navigation and progressive disclosure of information, the architecture simplifies complex academic offerings while preserving depth — enabling confident, self-directed program selection within a large institutional ecosystem.
